Cannabis Franchising and Business Growth: How the Curio Wellness Model Empowers Operators

Cannabis franchising and business growth are rapidly becoming two of the most discussed strategies in the modern cannabis industry. With limited access to capital and mounting regulatory challenges, entrepreneurs and operators are searching for innovative ways to scale sustainably. One such approach gaining momentum is the franchise model pioneered by Curio Wellness—a system designed to empower operators, especially women and minority entrepreneurs, with tools, training, and funding to succeed.

In this exclusive members-only webinar, we dive deep into the franchise blueprint developed by Curio Wellness and explore how it’s transforming cannabis franchising and business growth across the United States.

What is the Curio Wellness Franchise Model?

At the heart of the conversation is the cannabis franchising model designed by Curio Wellness. This turnkey solution provides aspiring dispensary owners with access to proven operational frameworks, marketing support, inventory management tools, and regulatory guidance.

Unlike starting from scratch, entrepreneurs who adopt this franchise model enter the cannabis industry with a significant head start. The model is tailored to reduce entry barriers and mitigate risk, key challenges that often stifle business growth in the cannabis space.

Whether you’re new to the industry or looking to expand your footprint, aligning with a successful franchisor like Curio allows you to scale quickly, lean on industry expertise, and compete with larger multi-state operators (MSOs).

Cannabis Private Equity: What Funds Like the Curio WMBE Look For

Another major component in supporting cannabis franchising and business growth is access to capital. During the webinar, we’ll discuss the unique role of the Curio WMBE Fund—one of the few private equity funds dedicated to supporting women and minority cannabis entrepreneurs.

So, what do funds like Curio WMBE look for before investing?

  1. Operational Readiness – Are your processes, systems, and team prepared for expansion?

  2. Regulatory Compliance – Are your licenses in place and is your business structured to scale legally?

  3. Market Viability – Are you entering a region with strong growth potential and consumer demand?

Understanding these criteria can position cannabis operators for greater success and open doors to the capital needed to grow.

How Accountants Can Support Cannabis Franchising and Business Growth

  • How to assess a client’s readiness for franchise expansion

  • Key financial metrics investors evaluate

  • Tips for organizing your clients’ books for private equity scrutiny

What to Do When Financial Desperation Sets In

Sometimes, despite best efforts, businesses find themselves in less-than-ideal financial situations. For minority-owned cannabis companies, the pressure can be even greater.

We’ll walk through real-world strategies for:

  • Renegotiating unfavorable financial contracts

  • Avoiding predatory lenders

  • Creating short-term cash flow strategies that don’t compromise long-term business growth

When desperation sets in, knowledge and community support are your greatest assets.
