Cannabis companies are multi million dollar operations. They grow big, fast and will quickly outgrow a small accounting practice.
In this presentation we will discuss the different types of unique accounting services cannabis operators need and how you can niche within the niche.
Learning Objectives: Cannabis Cultivation Accounting
Cultivation and grow operations are where it all starts for the Cannabis industry.From the time a seed is planted until the end-product reaches consumers, Cannabis plants are counted, tagged, and tracked according to state rules and regulations.
Throughout the lifecycle of the plant, cultivators and growers are required to keep up with reporting regulations, keep their books, and pay their taxes. This can get overly complicated very quickly for smaller Cannabis operations, so accountants need to be prepared and informed for growth to ensure that our clients are scaling up while remaining compliant. Our next CPE event will feature NACAT PROs’ Naomi Granger, CPA, MBA, as she walks us through needs that are specific to cannabis cultivators and growers, and how accountants can essentially “niche within a niche” by serving these businesses.
