Cannabis companies are multi million dollar operations. They grow big, fast and will quickly outgrow a small accounting practice.

In this presentation we will discuss the different types of unique accounting services cannabis operators need and how you can niche within the niche.

Learning Objectives: Cannabis Accounting Services

It’s not uncommon for mom-and-pop cannabis shops to become multi-million-dollar operations and outgrow their support teams relatively quickly. Scaling is not easy in any industry, so it’s important to put together a game plan early for expanding your own services as your clients grow.

There are also times where accountants also just may want to expand their skills so they can handle more than just, say, the tax side of their client’s business.

What you don’t want to happen is for your clients to outgrow your service offerings and capacity, simply because you were not prepared to scale with them. The good news is that we’ve scaled some of these cannabis businesses ourselves, and we’re ready to share with you what it’s taken us years to formulate.

During our next CPE event, Naomi Granger, CPA, MBA, will be presenting the “Top 5 High-Paying Cannabis Accounting Services You Can Offer.” Naomi will share different services that you can offer that will not only command higher fees, but also allow you to scale your own business along with your clients. Helping accountants grow their own firms is what NACAT Pro’s is all about, after all.

Naomi will be going over:

  • The importance of clearly defining the services you are offering when taking on a new cannabis client
  • Why you are able to demand higher fees in cannabis
  • How to ensure your cannabis client does not outgrow your one man firm
  • Cannabis specific services
